Windows XP + Windows Vista

I think you would be better waiting until a final version of Vista is issued. I fairly sure then that there will be the facility to have dual booting of XP and Vista incorporated or available in the setting up.

Remember that the current Vista O/S is time limited and will cease to work in the not too distant future.

I recall that in the preamble to the Vista beta installation instructions it was quite specific that the Vista installation would overwrite any previous operating systems present on the machine and to ensure that there was a full backup available for the time when the beta version expired.
