IE7 - Beta 3 not working?

Hi,

I recently downloaded the IE7 - Beta 3 and installed it without problems on my Windows XP SP2 Pro. I restarted my computer and launched the browser. No problems. My standard page (google) was shown.

I then wanted to go to a Danish TV-guide, so I entered the URL in the "URL-bar" (I don't know what it's called - but the place where you type www.hotmail.com etc). and hit enter. Nothing happened. I tried hitting the "Go" button (the one with the green arrow) instead, but still nothing!

If I type in the url in google and then hit enter, I can get further. Using hyperlinks everything works fine. Also, I can use the search field in the upper right corner of IE7. I just can't use the URL-bar! What could possibly be wrong?

I tried downloading and installing IE7 - Beta 3 again, but still no go with the URL-bar!

Anybody with a solution????

Uhh, also justed noted, that the Favorites menu isn't working either. I can add a new favorite, but it doesn't show up in the menu! If I try to enter the same page twice, I'm told that I already have the page in the menu?!?!

What's up with the new browser??? I know that it works, since I've seen it a lot of places. Why doesn't IE7 - Beta 3 work here???

Part of the answer may lie with the fact that the program is a beta version which means it's a program in development and should only be installed/used by those prepared to look out for and accept problems and then report them back to the program's creator.

All too often beta versions of all sorts of things are downloaded by the unsuspecting user who then seems surprised that the thing doesn't work as it should.

Unless you are prepared to accept the foibles of software that's in development and also report back anything untoward, it is best for you to keep away until the final version is issued.

I don't know how easy IE 7 is to remove from your machine (it is said by some to be easy, by others to be difficult) but can you do a System Restore to before the time you installed IE 7 - Windows will have made a restore point prior to installation.

You could always change to an alternative browser - there are a number of good ones to choose from.

I tried IE 7 and did not get on with it. It uninstalled OK for me, but I had an Acronis back up ready just in case. The only reason that I tried it was because I had the back up handy in case things went pear shaped.
