FTP error

Hi

I'm trying to ftp some files up to a web a page but my WIndows based FTP client reports back that the connection was closed the error reported back by BlazeFTP is "Software caused connection abort."

Any hints on how to solve the problem

Is the server you are trying to FTP to currently down? Have you tried any other FTP clients? Can anyone else you know connect and login to the server?

I can connect and login through the Command prompt FTP program, but can't figure out the problem with the Windows client. Windows Firewall is off and I can't switch it on due to what Windows XP Pro describes as an 'unidentifed problem'. I have reinstalled SP2 and still have the same problem, all updates have been installed.

its the server side. whats happening is the servers listening port suddenly closes and your software reports a connection error. or the server is down. its not usually software related locally.

fasterfox - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1269/ (to speed up things via browser settings)

install Firefox, then install Fireftp, then install faster fox.

go to tools, then fireftp. in firefox.

then new, then fill in the information. then press connect.

ps. - please remove "http://www.php1h.com/showpic.php?pic=" from the address when looking at screenshots. host tries to re-route picture requests.
