thegooch49
Hello, I have a computer w/ Intel D925XCV motherboard. I am experiencing very slow speeds opening files via Explorer. Double clicking a simple 3 line text file (on local c:) will take about 45 seconds to open. On task manager, there is nothing alarming going on. System Idle is 98% or so.The strange part is, that this behavior only happens when a network cable is plugged in. It's an onboard Marvell 1000m controller. I disabled it and installed a PCI Intel controller. The same thing happened w/ the Intel controller! As soon as the cable is unplugged, it works fine. I updated the BIOS to the latest version. All drivers were updated on the ethernet controllers. There is no spyware or malware on the system. It's running perfectly otherwise. Lauching and running apps is fine. At idle, there is no activity on the processor or network in task manager. Any ideas? I'm stumped.
