ajdelr
Hi,I am currently installing a software in my workstation which runs in Windows 2000 SP 4. One of the steps in it's installation procedure was "run regedt32 then go to Hkey_local_machine >> Software >> the dropdown Security >> Permissions". I couldn't find that registry key. Can anyone help me on this? Any form of help would be appreciated. Thanks,
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum! That key must be property of some software that I do not know. Can you tell us more what software you were trying to install? (Sounds like a very atypical install process).
ajdelr
^^Its a custom software that we created. It basically runs an vb executable file every time a particular user logs in to the workstation. That step was to allow that user certain permissions on that pc to run the executable. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
So that registry key 'the dropdown Security' belongs to you? Or it is checked by your software? Can't you create it automatically if it doesn't exist?
~Root~
honestly unless the application is actually checking for a entry like that why would it matter? is it mucking with the application or causing the application to not install?
