CurlyWhirly
It isn't a problem as such but I have noticed that over time NOD32 is saying that it's updating when it isn't.I get the usual XP balloon noise and the accompanying taskbar notification:What is strange is that when I go to http://www.eset.com/support/updates.php I see only the one entry for the latest update (version 1.1768) and yet NOD32 updated at least 6 times yesterday and twice this morning I am just wondering if any other NOD32 users get this?I have enabled automatic updating so perhaps this has something to do with it?As I said before, I like NOD32 but this 'feature' got me curious enough to ask on the forum. Chris
You mean you keep seeing the same update baloon with the same information contained in it?
CurlyWhirly
You mean you keep seeing the same update baloon with the same information contained in it?Yes that's exactly right.NOD32 has always done this since I first used it (a couple of months ago) but yesterday and today it's done it more than normal and I'm just curious why? Chris, I forgot to ask.As you also use NOD32, do you also get this?
Chris
I would say no I do not, but I don't really look at the balloon because it appears once when I boot up, or other family members have used the computer and its updated when they've been on. So when I jump on I'll get an update or I no update [as it's already updated] I'll check though.

CurlyWhirly
I've now managed to solve the minor inconvenience by going to 'NOD System 32 > NOD32 System Setup' and enabling the option 'Enable silent mode' so that I don't see the update notifications anymore.I can still see whether my AV is up to date by hovering my mouse pointer over the NOD32 icon by the way. While I was at it, I also ticked the option 'Do not display NOD32 splash screen at startup' as that was also annoying as I used to have to wait for aprox 30 seconds for it to go away when booting up windows. As this is resolved, I will close it now.
