Zep
Hello there! This my first visit to the forum and I hope someone can help me. I have a PC with XP Home Edition and another one with W98. I set up the network and I can see both PC´s in both of them. I have enabled sharing of discs and XP firewall is off. From the PC with XP I can manage the folders in the other one. However from the w98 PC i only can "see" the other unit in the Network Neighbourhood. When I try to open this icon, the system ask me for a password for IPC$. As I don't know the password for this automatic shar I can´t log into the XP pc. My question is if this normal, i.e., a W98 PC can´t connect to a XP HOME EDITION PC.Many thanks for your attention and help. I wish someday I can be of use.See you,Zep

Scarecrow Man
You can use XP's built-in Network Setup Wizard. Just create a Setup Disk at the end of the Wizard, and use it in your other PC.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308522/
