Rupert
Hi,Every time XP Home boots I get Disk Checking run on a blue screen.Runs parts 1 of 3 and 2 of 3 fine but never gets to 3 of 3 so the only way out seems to be by re-booting and hitting any key within 10 seconds which cancels it and then XP boots.Must admit have had Disk Checking run in the past but it has only ever been in one stage with no problems advancing straight away to the XP screen.Any ideas on how to stop this or get it to complete pert 3?Thanks. Scarecrow Man
Windows will only run CHKDSK after an error, or improper shutdown. You should always shut down by going to start > shutdown. Can you run CHKDSK from within Windows?Just go to Start > Run > chkdskIt does take quite some time to complete, so do it at a time when the computer sits idle for a while.
