Tankus
US defence spokesman readily agreed this morning that the US will be active and have a large presence in Iraq for at least 10 years... Even pro US /UK Iraqis are getting itchy feet as the utilities that we have destroyed are a long way for being up and running....Basic law and order is a long way from becoming enforced.Dead British troops being unloaded from a plane ,while our unelected press officer (who seems to be in charge of policy) is still pressurising the BBC to tell the truth as it has been written by him , while not a peep out of our supposed Rt Rev president .6 Mullahs killed in a mosque yesterday when somebody made a mistake during a bomb making class...... Attacks on US troops becoming more organised and heavier.Still no real plan on how a country wide democracy is going to be set up......Turks looking hungrily at the North east, Iran is pushing the Sunni's.are we still in shock and awe ....or despair....? andsome
I cannot understand why more Iraq's are not concentrating more on rebuilding than demonstrating against those who have freed them from one of the worst monsters in history. But then that is the Muslim mind for you.
Guest moon
It must be tough on Iraqi women, trying to decide which is worse; waiting for some hot water to wash up with or wear a cloth coffin and have your clitoris cut off.

andsome
The Muslim mind is definitely weird. Iraqi's now have every chance to build a strong democratic free society, but prefer to kill other people instead. Witness the latest outrage in Israel, the Israeli's were about to start withdrawing their security forces from several towns and cities, so the Muslims kill more innocent people. THEY DO NOT WANT PEACE, they want world domination.
Guest LB
THEY DO NOT WANT PEACE, they want world domination.couldn't agree more, however there is a possibility of tarring all with the same brush, it is not all muslims that want world domination...just the extremeists

The attitude appears to be that although they do not like what the extremists do, the fact that it is being done against Israel or the west somehow makes it less of a crime. As I said the Muslim mind is weird.
Sir T Fireball
I think they regard us with a similar amount of disdain to that with which we regard them :( The body counts in Iraq are far from balanced. The numbers of Iraqi civilians (not terrorists) killed each day far out-weighs the number of our losses. We don't seem to hear too much about them though. Are the lives of coalition forces more important than those of Iraqis? You cannot expect to feed a man with your left hand as you beat/shoot him with your right and expect him to smile and say thanks for the meal!I do agree with the fact that this will not end until such a time as the 'real' muslims decide to take action against the extremists (did I just agree with Moon?) Tankus
And just to stir it......why there are no WMDS in IraqSaddam's WMD 'may be in Lebanon' US intelligence suspects Iraqi weapons of mass destruction may have been hidden in Lebanon. Scud missiles and parts for chemical and biological warheads are believed to have been moved to the Bekaa Valley, a stronghold for terror group Hezbollah, according to online intelligence digest Geostrategy-Direct.com. It said the CIA first identified a stream of trailers moving from Iraq to Syria to Lebanon in January, but did not initially register the significance of the operation.Lebanon next ? Tankus
Something else of a major worry to the US in Pravda , That Iran has allowed large numbers of al Qaida terrorists to pass across from its northern boarders in Afghanistan to Iraq .The rate of guerrilla attacks looks set to increase , with a higher proportion being done by non Iraq militia ... Iraq to become a terroist magnet
Tankus
Baghdad turning into USA's Belfast in more ways than one...from the Sunday TimesA LAW firm which made its name defending republican terrorists in Northern Ireland is helping families of Iraqis shot at a checkpoint to mount legal actions against the American militaryI find this news item a touch ironic as this firm made a fair wad of money in supporting terrorists like the hunger striker Bobby Sands ...Paid for by American donations.. Tankus
This is a curious story of the changes in US and Europe relationsThe Pentagon is keen to take advantage of the military facilities and political welcome offered by the countries of central and south-eastern Europe where pro-American sentiment contrasts with the prevailing climate in France and Germany, where environmental complaints about military exercises are more easily ignored, and where public opinion is more passive than in western Europe.Zagreb dispatch Open doors in the east ....closing doors in the west ....As the US intends to pull large numbers of its troops out of Germany.......... andsome
********************************************************************Why not sort out the NHS once and for all , by getting rid of the "bed blockers" via compulsory euthanasia for the over 65's . it'll also sort out the pension crisis as well............?. ********************************************************************The youngsters probably use more NHS resources these days than the over 65's, with their sexually transmitted diseases, because they are too stupid to take precautions, with their idiotic drug problems, with their injuries due to stupid meaningless fights, with their millions of teenage pregnancies. etc etc. The teenage pregnancies of course use up social security money in addition to NHS money. They use up more social security money because so many are unemployable, they wreck other peoples property and cause more loss of funds. Also remember that probably 99% of the over 65's have contributed to the country all their working lives and earned an entitlement to assistance now. The country would probably be a lot better off if euthanasia were introduced as a punishment for a good many of the juvenile crimes, then we could all walk the streets in safety, all have a better NHS and better social security. There would be less wanton damage done etc etc. in short the world would be a lot better place.
