Cannot create value: Error writing to the registry.

Tried to add some key to the registry, but I am prevented from doing so

post-1524-1160980762_thumb.gif

Never ever had such a problem before, and even Google seems unable to help me this time.

What did I do recently? Most importantly, I found my 7x24 machine powered down this morning. Still don't know what happened (power outage?)

I also installed KB925672 this morning (via AutoUpdate), as well as the newest version of DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904).

Naturally I am logged in with administrator privileges, and Windows performed a CHKDSK during the startup after the unexplained power down.

Any suggestions / ideas ?

I am an idiot! :0 The registry subfolder simply didn't have permission for me to add a value.

Changed permission and successfully added the value... :paperbag1:
