Stumped
On installation, I selected not to share any files. I am not on a network. I then de-selected wmpnscfg.exe in sys config. I disabled the two (2) BHO it installed (to start automatically). However, when I start the media player...it puts wmpnscfg.exe back into sys config. .....I have made it clear that I do not want this #%@&^ thing running all the time in the background. Nothing I have tried will stop it. Is there any way (short of uninstalling 11 and using 10) to eliminate this intrusive program?

Sweet huh...won't call home unless you use me.
trackrat
Another thing to try is the box you used for disabling WMPNSCFG.EXE, go to the Recovery tab and reset all three boxes to Take no action and click Apply/Ok and see if that works.
