-pops- Posted October 23, 2006 Report Share Posted October 23, 2006 Windows updates should not interfere with any installed programs.However, as with all alterations on a computer you are strongly advised to make at least a restore point on System Restore before doing anything. A full system backup would be even better.I does concern me somewhat that you imply that you don't keep your Windows installation up to date with the regular issues of Windows Updates. Do you have a reason for making a special point of stating:I am planning to do a windows updateTo run efficiently and safely, Windows should be kept current by installing updates as they are issued, not on a "special occasion" as it seems you are doing.However you do this updating, ensure you do it from a Microsoft source, not some anonymous or unknown website that you just happen to come across by Googling.
