-pops- Posted October 26, 2006 Report Share Posted October 26, 2006 OK.I suggest that you remove the previous O/S before attempting to install Windows.As you have a Maxtor drive, the Maxblast facility will format the drive for you.Get Maxblast from click here. I've found this on Google http://www.notebookforums.com/archive/index.php/t-64228.html but I don't hold out much hope there. It seems that the drive may be failing.What did you use to format the HD?
