avexhype
If I can fix this problem this forum will be the best ever, anyways, I have another computer which is currently messed up. It had a virus, (or something else, I dont remember, its been sitting there for about 5 months), so I thought if I re-installed XP it would help it, so I did....but in the middle of the installation, I was in step number 4 (the one that says installing windows) and it said setup will be complete in approximately 33 minutes, so I waited them, 2 hours past by, 4, 5, 1 day, 2 days, so I knew it wasnt working, so I just shut off my computer and tried it again, same thing, started at step number 4, and stayed there for A LONG time, then I think I remember a pop up saying there was something wrong with the virus program or something, and with the printer, anyways, so I turned it off again, and I pressed F8 to go to the Windows Menu, I pressed Repair windows XP (because the setup wasnt working as I said previously), but then it asked me for an administrator password....anyone know where I can get this? How can I install windows so I can use the PC again? Thanks.
andsome
Were you trying to install XP over the top of the old program, or did you do a full format and then follow up with the installation? The printer and everything else should be unplugged or turned off.

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Let me rephrase Andsome's question: did you format the HD before installing Windows, or did you just install over the existing Windows installation?
