I have no problems at all with CCTV cameras in public places. In fact the more there are the safer I feel with so many personal attack crimes being committed. I would feel safer as well if the police were not hampered by spending so much time in the police station instead of out doing the job they are paid for. I heard yesterday that many police can spend as little as a couple of hours a day outside. I also have no objection to speed cameras. The way some people drive on todays very over crowded roads just beggars belief. I do however object to some of the snooping already being planned in the next census. B'liars crowd are threatening a £1000 fine for not answering such personal questions as how much do we get paid etc. I understand that some of this information will be used as a weapon to get more in local taxes etc out of us.

Regarding the secong link, is this really news to us? I don't go to large city centres more than I can help at night, having seen some of the scenes on the streets of Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cannock and Stafford etc. Much of this behaviour lies in the first instances with sloppy and couldn't care less upbringing. Too many kids only have to ask and they get what they want. Expensive computer gaming equipment, so called DESIGNER clothing etc, replica football shirts at at least ten times their true value. No discipline in the home or school etc etc. I agree with the finding that the fact that people do not sit down to eat as a family is also a cause of problems. From an early age too many kids are sat in front of the television with a snack of junk food on their laps, instead of a proper family meal. Kids are taught no pride in their communities, schools etc. Many local councils banned competitive sports etc some years ago, in the stupid belief that there should be no losers. I was never much good at sport, but always enjoyed taking part, it was the team that mattered. Many school sports field have been sold by left wing councils for housing development.
