Metalmurphy Posted November 4, 2006 Report Share Posted November 4, 2006 For some reason Windows keeps telling me that ALL drivers i install aren't "Windows Logo verified" and asks me if i wanna procceed or not, while this might seem normal i know that its not, becouse drivers that i used to install with no problems now this happens. Also i have LOTS ( and i really mean LOTS :P) of "Found new hardware what action do you want to take" dialogs during an hardware instalation when this also didn't used to happen before. For example i just installed my X-Fi Sound Card, before it would install with no prompts what so ever, now when i'm installing it i had about 15 prompts telling me that it found new hardware and i had to choose "Find drivers automaticly", and after i did that i would get the "Driver is not Windows Logo Verified" prompt. It all seems to work fine eitherway if i just choose "continue" with the prompts, however this is becoming quite annoying since it happens for every driver i install. Does anyone have the slightest idea of whats going on?Oh, this started happening after i made a clean install on a new partition i made on a RAID 0 setup, and i got Windows XP Pro.Thanks in advanced. -pops- Posted November 4, 2006 Report Share Posted November 4, 2006 My first thoughts are that you have a faulty install of your operating system.You could try running the System File Checker (sfc) to check and repair files. Metalmurphy Posted November 4, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 4, 2006 Just tried that, didn't help :S It didn't find any problems in the files.Now that i think about it i believe this problem happened even before i made the clean install, right after i made the new partition i was getting a "Found New Hardware choose what to do" dialog for a "Generic Volume" and when i pressed Search for driver i would also get the "driver not Windows Logo verified", and this would happen everytime the windows would boot. Thats why formated and made a clean isntall but it only seems to have gotten worst lol :P So this makes me wonder, maybe this is a problem with the partition? ITs unlikely though, i don't see how a partition could do this. Apart from that i can only assume the problem is maybe a Windows Update, couse that was about the only things i did after i formated. :S Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

-pops- Posted November 4, 2006 Report Share Posted November 4, 2006 I still of the opinion that your clean install wasn't as clean as you think it was and you have residues of a previous installation that are preventing Windows being loaded successfully.Do you have things in another partition or elsewhere on the drive? Are you doing a full format or quick format before installing.From past experience, I've found that WXP won't install easily on a drive that has other things already loaded on to it - including other operating systems or programs. Having had problems in the past, I now only install XP on to virgin drives i.e unformatted and unused. As hard disk drives are now relatively low cost, it is viable to do this and the drive which is removed can be reformatted used as an auxiliary drive in the new setup for storage/backups etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well ill just format it again just in case something went wrong during the instalation.Blergh, i'm having the same problem again, i formated my computer, all worked fine for a while, and now its back, and i have no clue what i did so this begins. When i connect my PSP it asks me for drivers and shows me the warning 2 times, and this happens everytime i connect it, instead of just the first time.Any one has a clue of what the problem is? cozofdeath Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 You could check your Sigverif.exe file. This is the file that verifies drivers. You may want to check if its the correct size and if the Windows Update is giving you a faulty version. The log file for sigverif.exe may even give a clue to what the problem is.
