zizzer
I've got an Adaptec AHA-2940UW connected to an external Compaq RAID array that has seven 18.2GB drives in it. The adapter and the BIOS can detect the drives perfectly, however when I get booted up into Windows XP, it shows all the drives under the "Hardware-->Device Manager-->Disk Drives" listing as it should....and it states they are all operating correctly, but when I go into "My Computer" it doesn't list any disk drives besides the 2 IDE and 1 SATA drive I have in my PC. My question is...What do I have to do to get these to be shown as viable usable drives as it is obvious that windows can see them and knows they are hard drives. Thanks everyone! -pops-
Are the drives formatted?Windows cannot use the drives unless they are formatted so they will not appear in My Computer until that is done, even though Windows sees them in Device Manager. zizzer
Thanks pops, the person who I bought them from said they had been formatted, but I am going to format them myself to be sure. Thanks for the quick response! I'll let you know how it goes.
