Hi,

I accidentally turned my only Computer Admin account into a Limited Account in an effort to stop someone in my family downloading silly files onto my system.

Now I'm stuck with 3 limited account and no admin account and I really need an Admin account to install necessary files.

Any ideas how I can change one of the limited account back to admin without having Admin rights??

Thanks

Tried that, none of my three accounts have admin capabilities so of all my accounts I login in to, there is no way of switching them back

To sum up, I have three accounts on my Windows XP Home Edition...

Of these three, only one was the computer administrator, but I changed this, without thinking, to a Limited Account so therefore all 3 accounts have Limited capabilities and that means I have no way to switch one back to Admin.

I was hoping someone knew a way to access the ability to a change a Limited Account into an Admin account whilst on a Limited Account.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Windows always has to have atleast one admin account. Usually its hidden from your logon screen unless you made a registry change. So you should still have one. The default admin account is also not in user accounts in the control panel also. If you don't know what I'm talking about, try restarting your computer and at the logon screen press control+alt+del twice. That will give you an alternative logon, type Administrator for the username and try hitting ok without a password. If it needs a password someone must have put one on it.
