A friend changed my mouse settings (turned off the touchpad, reoriented, and changed the speed all the way down). This is nothing new, so I set about repairing the damage. I went to the mouse properties, reoriented and turned on the touchpad. In pointer options, however, the motion bar is grayed out and inaccessible. Any ideas why that would happen? If you just have the standard mouse driver installed, try downloading and installing the latest driver for the specific mouse you have. -pops- Posted November 12, 2006 Report Share Posted November 12, 2006 Where did you look to alter the mouse properties?Can you do a System Restore/restore from backup to a time before this was done?Anyone who makes any adjustments to any of my computers in a similar way without my explicit permission (which I would not give) can expect a very short lifespan. Here, the motion field is grayed out.The System Restore fixed the speed, but the field to change mouse speeds is still grayed out.And as far the person goes, the route they took was the same: 3 changes, all from mouse properties. I just reinstalled the driver, but the motion and "snap to" functions are still unaccessible, though everything else works.
