greeatscott Posted November 12, 2006 Report Share Posted November 12, 2006 Hi, I'm giving up after two hours of looking and asking a question.Does anyone know which folder on your hard drive msn mails are saved to (after you've transferredmail from your inbox to your stored messages folder - where is that in your folder directory onyour hard drive)?Trying to see if I can restore mails on my old drive after a reinstall.I've done a .pst search on the drive but have come up with zippo, so does that mean msn mail uses something different? Or do you use Outlook Express to access MSN Mail?.PST files are used with Outlook - the Microsoft Office email client. Outlook Express uses .DBX files to store mail messages. Coreper Posted December 11, 2006 Report Share Posted December 11, 2006 msn mail doesnt use mail folders [on your harddisk]maybe windows live mail does [maybe you mean that one?]and i know its possible to use msn mail in outlook, but how it works with mail storage...... i dont knowbtw: isnt msn mail the same as hotmail? babysun Posted December 11, 2006 Report Share Posted December 11, 2006 Hello Scott, If you are asking about the folder you have created in MSN mailbox then it stores it on MSN's site not on your hard drive, so you won't be able to find it in your hard drive. As pat said it's the only possibility if you have stored it by using pop3 option in outlook.A bit more information would be helpful to resolve this issue.
