I have looked arount the internet and found a possible solution, but it is not cheap. http://www.hdd-tools.com/products/rrs/I was curious to know if anyone has used this service, or knows of another service that is cheaper (or free) and can provide the same thing.I have found and tried MANY programs that can unlock and change the password, if the orginal is known, but so far none that can remove the password. Even if I can change the password, that would help, but as I said above, I do not know the original password.I do need to recover the data from this drive, so an unlock tool that also formats the drive is not going to work, but if you find one let me know anyways.Many thanks. zizzer Posted November 13, 2006 Report Share Posted November 13, 2006 From my experience, it is VERY difficult to unlock an ATA password without some sort of hardware related tool, doing it by software alone may prove to be extremely difficult (if at all possible?) I agree with the software comment you made.)I have just looked around the internet some more, and found some information about Logic probes, but I dont think that is going to be too cheap.I'll keep looking, and if I can find any solid info, I will post back here.
