Having recently installed IE7 via Microsofts Windows Update, I having a strange problem which I don't quite understand.After installation of the browser, I restart my system, select my options (i.e search engine, turn on phishing filter, ect.) and start browsing.However, IE7 tabbed browsing is not working properly. The browser is functioning like IE6, my right click menu has not updated to include the option "open link in new tab", it still only has "open in new window" ala IE6.Also, when I click on a link on a web page which opens externally (i.e. in a new tab) it is opening a new browser window to view the link.This is driving me nuts as the one of the main reasons for upgrading was to remove the toolbar clutter of loads of browser windows. I know that IE7 should not function like this because I have installed it at work also, where it appears to function properly.I have looked in the internet options and all the relevent tab options have been checked. Something is not right.Is it just me or is this new IE very very buggy? The browser often freezes with me and crashes when I try to multitask a little or do things too quickly for it. Scrolling up and down this page using my mouse wheel for instance, is very jerky and slow. Is there an update for IE7 due? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've system restored to before the install and tried again ... No Joy. After this Internet Explorer switched to (No Add-Ons) mode without me selecting it and I was unable to switch them back on. The option under tools was greyed out. Can't play Yahoo Pool anymore!!! So, Ive restored it back to IE6, installed Mozilla 2 which is seemingly exactly the same. Microsoft have copied a competitors product to the last detail and still f@#ked it up.So until they sort that mess of a browser out. I will browse the net with Firefox and use IE6 whenever I come across something MF2 can't handle. MF2 also has problems with Yahoo Pool. In fact I am very pleased with it and appreciate the convenience and ease of tabbed browsing.All I can suggest - if you have not already done this - is to uninstall IE7 and install it again after a reboot.
