becu55 Posted November 28, 2006 Report Share Posted November 28, 2006 Ok I just bought this 20 inch widescreen monitor in a 16:10 ratio, but the only resolutions avaliabe are in 16:9 ratios, thus making the text look squished and kinda hard to read. Scarecrow Man Posted November 30, 2006 Report Share Posted November 30, 2006 For onboard video, you need to contact the motherboard manufacturer.Can you try a lesser or higher resolution?For example, on 1024x768 everything is fairly proportional, but if you go to 1020x800 it does seem quite squished.Try a few different resolutions to see if you find one you like. Unless you have some additional software from the manufacturer, that can be used to configure your monitor.Have you made sure that you have the latest drivers for both display adapter and the monitor? Can you give use the exact type of display adapter that is on your mother board? Also the driver version? (Both can be found in the Device Manager). becu55 Posted December 1, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 1, 2006 i updated the onboard vid driver but to no availim caving in and getting a Geforce 5200 because Nvidia's drivers offer custom resolutions, my other comp has a 6600 and customs resolutions can be used so for 30 bucks its not that bad Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It would be nice if the onboard video did support those resolutions, but it seems it does not.At least it's not an expensive upgrade (as I am sure the monitor was).
