-pops- Posted November 29, 2006 Report Share Posted November 29, 2006 I don't think Windows backup will write to DVD.Also, I've written this before that I wouldn't entrust anything as important as a backup to something as delicate as a DVD - I wouldn't write my shopping list on one.Windows backup is very basic and there are much better independent programs available. The one which I, and many others here and elsewhere, use is Acronis. Subscribers to this forum get a special deal on buying Acronis - click on the appropriate tab at the top of the page for details. There are other backup programs available as well.I have separate, dedicated hard drives for my backups. Hard drives are a very reasonable price nowadays. andsome Posted November 30, 2006 Report Share Posted November 30, 2006 I agree that Acronis is a good program. I use it to back up to an external plug in USB drive.
