AlanHo
When I booted up the computer this morning it asked me to download a critical windows update - so I let it. Only to find it was downloading IE7.Nothing strange about that, you may say.Except for the fact that I have been using IE7 for several weeks now and am happy with it.It took about 25 minutes to uninstall the previous version, install the new one, run the MS Malicious Software Removal Tool, download IE updates and reboot the machine.Fortunately it retained all my settings so nothing but 25 minutes of my life has been lost.Aaaaaaaarrrrhhhhhhhhh
andsome
Make a point of going to Windows update when you get such messages, and look at what the updates are first.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Is the version the same as the previous one? (e.g. I have 7.0.5730.11)
AlanHo
Is the version the same as the previous one? (e.g. I have 7.0.5730.11)The current version is the same as yours - but with IS after the 11.It is too late to determine the previous version - but my machine is set to auto update so I can only presume it was up to date before. However - if it was a version change - no-one else has reported that it uninstalled the previous version first.Perhaps a mystery we will never solve
