Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close......

Hi every one, this is my first post .

i am running windows xp on a asus laptop.

i just installed the downloaded driver for an epson c80. did a test print , ok.

then i installed the downloaded driver for my epson 2200 did a test and try a print but i got this error : Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close, then i checked that the print spool sevice stoped. i restart it and i got the error again. restarted a gain . try a print again and same error.

i am unable to print using the epson 2200.

it works with the c80 epson.

do you have any ideas?

Hello, and welcome to the Windows Forum.

This kind of thing may happen if you do not exactly follow the installation instructions. Some devices require that you install the driver before connecting the device. If you do it the other way around, the results may be unpredictable.

Did you follow the installation instructions?

P.S. what is the exact full name of the printer causing the problem? (e.g. the c80 is called Stylus C80, but I can't find anything 2200)

Also, are you sure you downloaded and installed the correct driver? I looked up the Epson site, and it took me a while to find the correct driver for the Stylus Photo 2200 - the installer name is epson11263.exe

When you open the Device Manager, can you see the driver for the Epson Sylus Photo 2200 correctly installed?
