Mackenzie123
My AOL Instant Messenger's internet connection cuts out every few minutes periodically. The Reconnecting message appears and i reconnect in less than a second. The problem is, when this problem occurs, I miss ims and it makes it very difficult to have a conversation with someone when I have to worry about not seeing their messages. Also, people think I am ignoring them although I have no knowledge of them saying anything. Can someone please help me? :(
-pops-
Is all of your Internet connection like this or just AOL messenger?
Mackenzie123
it seems to only affect the AOL instant messenger
cozofdeath
Have you tried shutting down your firewall while using it to see if it happens any more. Firewalls can cause this even if you don't change any settings.
Mackenzie123
ive tried that in the past but i decided to try again but i still have no luck
cozofdeath
This is all over the internet. It seems to be in older versions as well, even other clients. It also seems to happen with certain accounts, not AIM itself, and no one has solved it yet apparently. You may have the same problem as everyone I've seen on google. I don't use AIM but in my opinion if you have the same problem I would say it has to do with the protocol,AIM server or maybe a router problem with the protocol. If your into troubleshooting I would download a packet analyzer to monitor traffic. Other than that maybe AIM Fix or Winsock Fix will work but its unlikely.
