coolmoejay Posted January 3, 2007 Report Share Posted January 3, 2007 Windows seems no longer able to access ID3 tags on my mp3 files. Neither through media player or windows explorer (when i bring up file properties they are gone)Now i know the tags are still there because other mp3 players are able to recognise them. is there any way to fix this. I have tried uninstalling media player and re-installing it (as much as you can uninstall media player!) this didn't fix it. i have tried media player 9,10, and 11. to no avail.The player side of things isn't really a problem for me, i can always use a different one. its the windows explorer problem that is messing me up.any help anyone could supply would be greatly appreciated.thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is just Windows Media player and Windows (in the explorer windows and file properties) can't see them.Thank you for your suggestion thought.anyone else got any ideas? I found out, from the links you gave me, that mp3 and wma have different tag types. I have both formats in my music collection, and neither show tag information through windows. so now i know that this isn't just an ID3 tag problem.Thank you for your help and time.Anyone else wanna have a crack at it?
