Alexis Blaze Posted January 9, 2007 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 hello all.. i've just installed a new cable internet in my house.. the modem can be connected to my computer via UTP and USB cable... but the weird thing is, the internet works fine only if i connect the external coax modem via a UTP cable to my computer... if i try to connect the modem via USB cable.. it won't get an IP from DHCP... any thought why this could happen?? i'm trying to share my internet connection using ICS.. but i can only share it if i connect the modem via USB.. coz when i connect it via UTP cable, windows won't recognized it as an internet connection..i've been trying to set this thing up for almost a week now and i ran out of idea here... hahaha...Thank for your help.. :D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This software should come with your Modem.I also use ICS using Dial-up shared to two computers. I have the internet comming into a dial-up modem, and two network cards. Network cards are cheap and easy to install.You can also use a router to do the same thing. This is the method I would suggest, since it is so easy and provides expansion.
