Tom S Posted January 23, 2007 Report Share Posted January 23, 2007 ok i have been using windows xp and basically every other windows for a long time but i dont know how to solve this.i recently was upgrading my aunts computer and for some reason her icons that are supposed to be on the desktop are going into a toolbar on the start menu called desktop. when i tried to drop them on the normal desktop, it said it couldnt be done. also when i right click an icon and send it to the desktop it goes to this toolbar/window.how do i get this back to the normal setting? Scarecrow Man Posted January 23, 2007 Report Share Posted January 23, 2007 You can turn off the desktop toolbar.Right click the toolbar > toolbars > desktop (it will be checked, so just click it to uncheck it)Then you should be able to add files to the desktop as normal.
