Irene
I had a reminder from Secunia this morning, that they had updates available.I logged on and did the scan and came up with all green ticks. However, I seem to have three Java installations. Is this to be expected?
andsome
I had a reminder too. You will have more than one Java if you do not uninstall before installing a later version.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
However, I seem to have three Java installations. Is this to be expected?Yes, this is normal - you can have a number of different Java RTEs installed. However, it is very rare that a user actually needs more than one JRE, so you better uninstall all but the latest JRE 1.6(If you are curious why someone would need an older JRE. My company has an application that requires Java RTE 1.3.0.4, otherwise the program won't run correctly. In this case we can have JRE 1.6 installed, but must also have 1.3.0.4)

I did that once and the latest one would not run. It wouldn't be much trouble to remove them all and start with a fresh install.
