Irene
Can anyone tell me to take off the colour word hits in google search. To try and explain, when i input a search in google, the results are word colour coded as to the words i searched on ..which is a bit off putting for me.I dont know how it was switched but i would love to switch it off !Looks like you downloaded the Google toolbar with IE7 (default unless you uncheck it).I found this on a google search...http://www.ehow.com/how_2003306_highlight-search-terms.htmlbut if you look at the bottom of the page under Overall Tips and Warnings, it says, "To remove the Highlight or Word Find buttons from your toolbar, carry out the same steps as you would take to enable it, but uncheck the boxes instead of checking them".The enable is at the begining of the page and states: Enabling and Using the Highlight Function in Internet ExplorerInstructions STEP 1: Click the Settings button, click Options then choose the More tab. STEP 2: Check the box labeled Highlight, then click OK to save your changes and exit the window. STEP 3: Perform a Google search as normal. STEP 4: Highlight your search terms on Web pages by clicking the Highlight button on the Google ToolbarTherefore, just reverse this procedure. andsome
Google, and also Yahoo are now paying a lot of program makers to include their tool bars in downloads. If you don't want these, be very careful what you tick to allow, both on download and also install. It's very easy to slip up if you don't keep your eyes open.
