Bizzare Sound Problem

Allright. i dont know what you all need to know, but here the skinny.

I just rebrained a computer with XP Home Edition. So far its working good except for one major problem. The PCI drivers arent working. Acourding to the computer there are two PCI drivers installed but neither work. When I click update it tells tell me to insert a CD, which i dont have, or log onto the internt, whic i dont have either. then it tells me the instlation failed.

the other things that arent working are the Network Controller and the Ethernet Controller and I have the same porblem.

Bottom line is the sond isnt working. when i try to do things like open the volume controll it says mixers arent intalled.

i would very much like to hear things if at all possible.

if u need more info, just ask and ill tell you what i can.

Welcome to the Forum. If I might ask a question, how did you re-brain your PC without a CD?

The things you say are missing are all normally on the disk of drivers and other essentials supplied with the motherboard. If you don't have that disk, find out the make/model and using the computer you used to send this post, look on the Internet for the relevant software and download it to CD.

It may be that, if the motherboard is old, the software is no longer available for download. In this case, contact the manufacturer to try and get them to supply a relevant disk.

to post here means some access to internet. look inside your box for mfg. of your pci cards esp. network controller. pst results here or go directly and dload/install.
