Hi, I've got an email with a very large (18meg) attachment trapped in the outbox of outlook express. I have tried various methods of deleting it, but there it remains, still supposedly being sent.

Any ideas?

Hi Julian

Could it be your firewall or anti-virus program blocking it whilst checking it out?

I had a similar problem once when trying to send a movie zipfile in an attachment.

You folders could be corrupted.

Go to File > Folders > Compact all Folders, and let it run all the way through. After it has completed, try deleting the file.

If that does not work, go to where you files are stored, and delete outbox.dbx (make sure outlook express is closed first). It will be re-created next time you launch the program.

Go to Tools > Options > Maintainence > Store Folder. Copy the entire contents of the text box (highlight it, and press ctrl+c) then go to start > run and paste the entire contents into that text box (ctrl+v) this is where your mail is stored. Simply make sure Outlook Express is not running, and delete outbox.dbx.

Please note any mail in Outbox will be deleted when you do this, so make sure everything but the trouble maker has been sent already.
