Device Manager - Blank Screen

Recommended Posts

The Device Manager on my PC is blankly refusing to show it's under-ware to me, the screen has all the tools available as normal, drop downs and all but no selection produces any visible output on the screen. B)

I have looked at the MS Win forums, and the nearest it gets to the problem is the exclusion of plug & play items, these I have checked and found the settings correct.

Having searched my memory I can't think what I may have done to create this situation, or how it has evolved accidentally. :censored:

Is there any Knight in shining chromium plate who can save me from this dragon of darkness. :D

Boot into safe mode (press F8 before the windows screen starts loading.)

start > run > services.msc

stop Plug and Play and then reboot into normal mode. Return to Services.msc and restart PnP. Check Device Manager. If still blank, reboot and try it again.
