deadendcruser Posted March 16, 2007 Report Share Posted March 16, 2007 I am having a problem when ever I insert my flash drive into the usb port. I am running windows xp, and when i insert the flash drive, my pc reboots! My pc recognizes "new hardware found" and the wizard installs the driver, but then about a minute later my pc reboots automatically. any solutions??? Thank you in advance...... Assuming it's a desktop machine, preferably one at the rear of the case in the collection of connectors at the top. korgg Posted March 16, 2007 Report Share Posted March 16, 2007 And me, who plays all day with phones connected to USB, couldn't think of that :( Thanks for reminding me that Scarecrow Man.Indeed, if there is to much power drain from the USB, the computer restarts. Also in the case of serial ports. That is a main reason to connect cables there with the computer shut down. In the best case, Windows blocks those ports and announces you of the fact.
