SLI problem

i lately bought a second videocard [Gigabyte nVidia 7600 GT 256MB > the exact same as i already have]

and tried to use it in SLI, but it causes my computer to crash every time when i boot in normal mode

it does however seem to work in safe mode

i already tried this:

-seperated use of both cards [and apply exact same settings]

-installing of latest driver software

note: both videocards are exactly the same, and have the complete same settings

my friend thinks it is caused by XPize > because:

-it changes all my system files

-SLI does work in safe mode

before we installed the latest drivers, i got a black screen [with green, vertical strips] after changing to SLI mode

after installing the latest drivers, i had to restart for SLI to work, but my computer stops loading after the Logon screen

it does, however, seem to work in safe mode...

what do i need, or can i do to fix this?

any help is appreciated

I had a similar problem to yours, and tried out each 7600gt card separately and they worked perfectly, but as soon as I tried to run them in SLi mode, lots of problems.

I posted on 4 different forums and got the answer that cured the problems on Pitstop.

They told me to uninstall the Nvidia drivers the run a program called Drive cleaner 3.3 then reboot the computer and reinstall the latest Nvidia drivers and that cured my problems.

so uninstalling the nVidia drivers, using Drivecleaner and reinstalling the drivers should work?

I do not know anything about XPize, I just know it cured all my problems, I hope it does the same for you.

i just cant seem to find them...

and how do i need to use DriveCleaner?

The latest drivers are 93.71.

Run the program and from the box select Nvidia then click OK and let it do its work.

runned drive cleaner [it was noted in the readme file how to use it]

rebooted in normal mode

installed the latest drivers

rebooted

set things how i like them to be >> SLI !!!
