When I realized it was no longer updating I purchased the latest version from Mcafee and started to install it. It stopped and said I had to remove enterprise version first. I went to add/remove programs and tried to remove it but it crashed. It no longer showed in add/remove programs but was still on the machine. So I deleted all references to network associates from the registry and it seemed to get rid of it.Now when I open the Mcafee install file all I get is a blank window. I decided to do a system restore but that just opens up a blank window too. I get blank windows or non functioning windows when running several other applications as well. For the most part my computer runs fine. I have tried safe mode but no luck. Unfortunately I have a gateway with OEM version of windows, so I can't even re-install windows. -pops- Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 Are you sure that you don't have Windows on a hidden partition on the machine?I no expert on Gateway machines but I thought that there was a recovery partition that could be used to restore the computer back to its factory condition. Any ideas what I have done?Hi,Try 21 days trial version Your Uninstaller 2006!.I'm using this software now and It work fine, I like it.It's not just an ordinary uninstaller program, this one remove unused left-over registry and file. One sophiscated feature, called 'Advance uninstall' may help you remover your undiscover program;-mcafee.BE very careful with the 'Disk cleaner', it will complicated your system once you click that so it's not wise to use that feature. For final clean-up just use Ccleaner will do.I would suggest you remove Your uninstaller, and run system restore if u manage to sovle your problem but it still your call to restore back to last good settings.Good luck.Let us know the outcome so at least some other member can post u other alternative.
