dd9 Posted April 1, 2007 Report Share Posted April 1, 2007 A few weeks ago, I performed a disk cleanup, checked only all of the temporary files, and it got rid of: Calculator, all of the games folder contents (Solitaire, Pinball, etc.), Internet Explorer (still have the shortcut so I can somehow get online, but I can't open files with it), and possibly more that I don't use. My computer is a Dimension 4700. I tried a system restore, searches, and got no results for them. If anyone knows how to retrieve these, any help is appreciated. If so, you can download it from the Microsoft download site and reinstall it. If not, please specify what you need restored.You say you deleted games, calculator, etc. You should never delete such things, but uninstall through the Control Panel's Add/Remove applet.In future, if you want to get rid of useless stuff, you better use a proven tool such as CCleaner. cozofdeath Posted April 2, 2007 Report Share Posted April 2, 2007 Stuff like what you said has disappeared can be replaced by via Add/Remove programs. You must have the Windows CD but you should be able to go into Add/Remove programs, click Add/Remove Windows Components, then uncheck Accessories and or Internet Explorer and click the Apply button.
