5haughtons
I just got a new laptop and it seems to be set to use Notepad as the default word processing program. Where do I go to change this setting? Thanks for any help.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum!Clarification: "default word processing program" - do you mean the program that is opening .DOC files? If so, you can change the file association (Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, tab File Types; locate the DOC file extension, then change the associated program). Please explain if you meant something different. -pops-
If you already have OpenOffice installed then follow the procedure from Pat.If you are yet to install OpenOffice, it will ask during the installation process if you want it to be the default word processing/office suite. Tick the boxes as you wish and it will then install the program(s) as default.
