This new product from ESET incorporates the next version of the NOD32 anti-malware engine with a personal firewall and anti-spam filter. The beta test version is a precursor of the final product without full functionality and documentation. Chris Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 12, 2007 ESET Smart Security Public Beta 1a (May 10, 2007)ESET Smart Security Public Beta Version 1a contains the following changes:ESET PERSONAL FIREWALL• Improved compatibility with other installed TDI filters, such as Sunbelt Software Personal Firewall.• Fixed an issue with notification windows not being displayed when the firewall is in Interactive Mode.• Fixed an issue with excluding applications from being checked for modifications.REAL-TIME FILE SYSTEM PROTECTION• Fixed an issue with the graphic user interface not properly reporting when real-time file system protection had been disabled.• Fixed an issue with how real-time file system protection scanned newly-created or modified files. Real-time scanning now properly quarantines files infected files on network shares.ON-DEMAND SCANNING• Fixed the problem with scanning the "My Computer" object or individual files were checked.ANTI-SPAM• Fixed an issue with Outlook 2007 crashing when closed.INSTALLATION• Fixed two issues which prevented ESET Smart Security from installing on some computers.Several misspellings in the user interface and the online help have been corrected as well.
