power supply

hi all...well having a lot of problems with loading my windows...it will get so far then it will try again,,,sometimes my computer will just turn it self off complietly,,,takes like 10 attempts to load in,,,then when im on it a while..everything will just freeze up..i try the ctrl/alt/del...nothing...so i have to turn it of @ the mains...i dunno if its my fan..cause really ..it is sounding a little noisy....i hope sum1 cld give me a idea what this problem could be..and maybe tell me how to resolve this matter...ty for taking the time to read my post..thanks all

I think you've answered the problem in your title.

Power supply units do seem to deteriorate with age/use and become less able to provide the extra bit of "oomph" (technical term) to get a computer going. I've known this happen on a number of machines - especially recently when previously it was a rarity.

I would look at replacing the power supply unit. Assuming it's a normal desktop machine, the unit will be fairly standard ATX PSU which can be obtained in a number of maximum power outputs. If you're familiar with the inside of your computer, have a look at the unit that's installed already and get a replacement unit of about 50 (or more) Watts output over and above the present one.
