My Windows Live Homepage Design

Recommended Posts

Okay, this isn't MY website but I couldn't find anywhere else to post this!

I didn't like the look of the Windows Live Search website so I decided to make my own version (using powerpoint surprisingly, so it's not an actual website, just a concept!!) The windows orb in the middle of the screen brings up a menu when you mouse over it (much like the one in the top left of the current website), but the one in the actual search results page is pretty much the same. I just wanted to make the whole search thing look nicer and more friendly and easy to use because the current one looks a bit ugly especially when you compare it to google. See for yourself...

sorry to say this, but i dont like it

it looks like its made with paint [no art skills here]

it might seem harsch of me to say this, but i am very into the graphical stuff [not with PS > that s*cks >>> the GIMP rocks! and rules!]

the idea is really nice though

but i think i know why MS made the live search page this way: they want to keep it simple and able to overlook:

the logo and the search options in the top [after searching] so you have more space for your search results [which definitly isnt possible with your huge logo and search bars and buttons]

also: you forgot to bring back the "vista" style toolbars and stuff

this definitly is a nice attempt but i dont think MS will ever approve it...

[btw: dont take these comments in a bad way, but use them positive...]
