Can't type in Windows Help

Hi there, I hope someone can tell me what's going on. Sometime back, I stopped being able to type in certain fields in Internet Explorer. I didn't think much of it, as I used Firefox most of the time. I don't know when it 'fixed' itself, but now I have noticed that I can't type in the search field of Windows Help?? Very odd.

Nothing else seems to be affected.

Any idea what might be wrong?

well, most cases are cause of spyware...

use spysweeper and upgrade to the newest version of IE (which is 7)

Thanks, but I have run the most current versions of Spybot, Ad-Aware and Avast with nothing detected.

As for IE7, I am not going to bother, as I use Firefox with no problems.

Do you know when this first happened? Can you do a System Restore to before that time?

Do you have a full backup of your system that you can install?

to be honest again, it kinda studip NOT to upgrade to IE7, since there are ALOT of functionallity in windows, especially arround downloading and program access to the internet, that is based on IE.

So when you use an old version, you are far more vulnerable to attacks.

With that said, i actually encountered programs that i couldn't install, cause i had IE7, which uses a slightly changed API for internet access to f.x. installers.
