albert4
Is there any way to recover pictures and files that were on my C: that I lost in the upgrade?
Raddy
Probably not...as far as I know, only Windows ME and Windows 98 SE can be upgraded to XP Home.In the future, you can use this chart to see if the upgrade is compatible. Sorry. :(
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
You surely have taken a backup before upgrading...?
Scarecrow Man
If you have done an upgrade installation, by inserting the XP CD while the computer was running, all of your files and settings will be in place. If you have booted from the CD and installed XP via the boot method, you have not upgraded your installation.I should also note, that most OEM versions of XP cannot be used as an upgrade CD, only a New Installation.
