XP Pro Disc Image

Recommended Posts

I was able to obtain an .iso of XP Pro through the MSDN Academic Alliance. I wanted to use it for some recovery console work, so I burned (using Roxio EMC 8) the image to a CD. The first time, I tried using the "burn image to disc" option in Roxio. After doing so, I rebooted and specified my CD drive as the boot device. I got to the Boot Device Selection screen, but when I selected "Onboard or USB CD Drive" I got a non-system disk error or something like that, basically saying that the disc isn't a bootable one. So, for round 2, I used the "Create bootable disc" option in Roxio and tried it again. This time, the computer just hangs at the Boot Device Selection screen. Does anyone know if theres a different method of burning the image so that Windows will recognize it as an installation CD?
