Window will not start up

Recommended Posts

When I start up my computer it goes through the beginning of the process but hangs up at the Windows screen with the the little rolling 'loading' bar across the middle. It never progresses past this point. When I start in Safe Mode, I cannot run System Works and CHKDSK does not seem to fix the problem. I have tried to start the computer with the System Works disc but when I try to change boot up sequence, it skip right past it to the page where it sticks. I am running in Safe Mode with Networking.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try this:

Assuming your computer is a desktop model, when it has reached the rolling bar stage, press the reset button on the front of the machine and see if the machine continues further in the bootup sequence after this.

This may not do anything but, if it does, it indicates a failing power supply unit. I've seen similar effects several times.

Hmmmm.... I don't know anything about laptops but, it still could be something to do with the machine not getting sufficient power to be able to boot up properly. Much like a jet engine, maximum power is required at take off as there are a lot of things competing for the power that is available.

Sorry I can't help but, quite possibly others will be able to.
