Ralph Posted June 17, 2007 Report Share Posted June 17, 2007 i have a car pc and am running xp pro. mainly i was wondering has anyone managed to get any very fast boot times on here? or if anyone has tryed?mine boots up in about 40secs, or comes back from hibernate in 25secs.taking in to consideration its a low power 12v setup with a jetways 1500mhz board/chip, with 512 rams, on board graphics.40gb 2.5inch IDE drive, to which i may upgrade to a sata.how can i make it faster??Ralph Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Click on the "Startup" tab and that lists all the programs that start when your computer boots. You can go through them and uncheck ones you don't want starting.WARNING: They are often oddly named; if you don't know what it is, don't touch it. Ralph Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Share Posted June 26, 2007 but then again , if you want this "car computer" to be faster , it kind of makes me wonder why you are running XP..?mainly because im using odd hard ware, and AHK as a software langage and using 98 would make things very difficult. tho 98 is way way faster.i know nothing of linux of macs, but i see using a different opperating system causing issues when i plug in unrecognised memory sticks etc, 98 often asks for its setup disk.Ralph Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
