Well, I have two extra monitors sitting around and I was wondering... can I have dual monitors without buying a separate video card?So, my question is, with two separate, and different video cards, is it possible to set up the dual monitor function? Well, I have two extra monitors sitting around and I was wondering... can I have dual monitors without buying a separate video card?ok , to clearify - you have "onboard" ( which is not reffered to as a video card ) video that came attached to the MOBO ( as expected) when you purchased this computer..!? , Ok so you then proceeded to purchase and install a "Video Card" and are now wondering if you can in fact have two monitors connected..? , Well if this new installed card has two monitor ports then the answer is yes... So, my question is, with two separate, and different video cards, is it possible to set up the dual monitor function?well if you mean two seperate video "cards" that you've purchased after the fact then NO , because you would then have "four" monitor ports and would need a rather special driver/setup to make it all work.. , it wouldn't be worth the extra effort...I like your screen name btw , what version of Redhat are you running...? Scarecrow Man Posted June 18, 2007 Report Share Posted June 18, 2007 To sum up the above posts: No.You can only do it with a dual-output single video card. You cannot have dual video cards, since once you plug one in, the on board is disabled, and I've never seen a computer with 2 AGP ports. Spaz Posted June 20, 2007 Report Share Posted June 20, 2007 I have configured a computer with 2 displays to function as a "extended roll over screen" with 2 PCI cards.
