bogdanrocta
Hi . I have recently bought a laptop from Germain with Windows Vista Home Basic. When i got home i realised the Vista Instalation Kit was in German language , after i have installed the Vista i saw that i cant change it to english anyhow. I know only a bit of German language so i wanted to change it to english and i started looking for a LIP for english modification of the Vista interface but i cant find one.I would like to know if there is a language pack to change the language interface or what can i do to change it.If anyone know's and would like to help me i would be thankfully.sorry for bad grammar. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Welcome to the Windows Forum.Windows XP was delivered in two basic versions: localized Windows (English, or German, French, Japanese, etc), and MUI (Multi-language User Interface). If you have the MUI version, then you can change the language. If you have a localized version, then you need to get and install another localized version of Windows to change the language.I don't know about Vista, if it is still the same, or if Vista is all MUI. However, I have a very thick book at home about Vista, and I will check it tonight if I can find any information on MUI.

AlanHo
I have Vista UltimateI can change the language settings from UK English to a large number of foreign languages including English (USA), French, German etc. I therefore assume you can do the same with a system bought in Germany.Go to Control Panel > Regional and language Options. Here you will find tabs for Formats, Location, Keyboard and languages, Administrative (System location).Ich hoffe, daß dieses dir hilft
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I didn't have time to consult my Vista bible, so it's good to hear from actual Vista users that Windows has finally matured into something more international than the last 12 years worth of Windows. If you (bogdanrocta) need help with changing the German version into another language, please post again, and I'm sure that one of our Vista users can help you guide through the process.
